The Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ Wilmslow Grange Primary School has today (1 February 2019) entered into the Frank Field Education Trust, chaired by the Rt Hon Frank Field MP. The news comes three weeks after the Trust announced it was taking on its first school in Ellesmere Port.

Mark Unwin, Headteacher at Wilmslow Grange, has played an integral part in the early growth of the Trust, which is committed to promoting social justice through excellence in education.

Wilmslow Grange is an outstanding school and is nationally recognised for curriculum development. The school is also known for its excellent SEND provision, especially for those with autistic spectrum disorder. The school will be renamed Handforth Grange Primary School later in February 2019 to better recognise its local roots.

Mark Unwin, Headteacher of Wilmslow Grange Primary School, said: “We are very proud to join the Frank Field Education Trust, which is so closely aligned to our vision of social justice. We look forward to supporting schools within the North West region in designing exciting curricula and becoming even more inclusive.”

Frank Field, Chair of the Trust, said: “We are very excited to now be working with Wilmslow Grange Primary School. Through sharing best practice the provision that is on offer for all pupils will have a huge impact on all of the schools under the FFET banner. This is an incredibly exciting announcement for us as a Trust and huge thanks must go to all those who have been involved in the process so far.”

Tom Quinn, CEO of the Trust, said: “We are delighted that Wilmslow Grange has today entered into the Frank Field Education Trust. With such a strong track record on curriculum development and inclusion we’ll be able to strike new ground in our provision for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children.”
